The original Woodstock three record set, signed by more than 40 artists who performed at the event. The inside center panel has taped to it a piece of lined paper about 3" x 7" signed by Janis Joplin (adding "Love") in black Flair felt tip pen. Three panels of the album cover contain the following signatures: (1)Back cover (with track listings): Joe Cocker and John Sebastian in blue felt tip, all others in ballpoint or biro: Jefferson Airplane members including Grace Slick, Paul Kantner, Marty Balin and Jorma Kaukonen, Canned Heat members including Fito de la Parra, Bob Hite and Henry Vestine (who did not play the concert), Ten Years After members including Alvin Lee, Arlo Guthrie, Country Joe, Sly Stone, Richie Havens (in black Flair pen which has significantly worn off) and Joan Baez. (2) Panel with photo of couple bathing: Jimi Hendrix (adding "Love Always") Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding (who did not play at the concert) all in red, Jerry Garcia, Carlos Santana, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, Graham Nash, Neil Young, Roger Daltrey, and Melanie (in blue felt tip). (3) Panel picturing stage from back and crowd: Pete Townsend, Keith Moon, John Entwistle, Paul Butterfield, Mountain members including Leslie West, Felix Pappalardi and Corky Laing, John Fogerty and Bowser of Sha Na Na both in blue felt tip. The signatures were obtained by lifelong collector and dealer Tom Grafton, and Gary Franco, an associate of his, over a period of about 25 years. This may well be the mother of all signed Woodstock albums, containing more of the key signatures than any other copy I've seen. Any copies signed by Hendrix are of course very rare. The cover shows much wear from it's journeys over the years, there is some scuffing and splitting of the side spines. The three vinyl records show a number of scratches. As I'm only able to post 2 images here, i chose what I thought showed most of the signatures best. I will be glad to send further images showing the panel with the Janis Joplin signature, as well as more detailed photos of the signed panels.
