Jimmy Nelson Farfel Danny O'Day Autograph Signed "Instant Vetriloquism" 1964 LP Record Album
The album "Instant Ventriloquism" signed on the back cover "Danny O'Day & Farfel (in Jimmy Nelson's hand) and "Thanks so much! Jimmy Nelson" on the front of the enclosed 8-page script. This 1964 album release by the Juro Novelty Company launched the careers of many young and hopeful ventriloquists. Most remember Jimmy Nelson's Farfel from the Nestle's commercials in the 1960's. Farfel would conclude the jingle, "N-E-S-T-L-E-S, Nestle's makes the very best-" with a drawn out "Choco-late", followed by a loud snapping shut of his mouth, a flub caused by the nervous Nelson's sweaty hands operating the mouth of Farfel. The sponsor liked the result and left it in, becoming one of the more memorable commercial moments from the era. The album cover still has the original shrink wrap on it. other than a somewhat worn lower right corner, it is in great shape. The vinyl record is in excellent shape. The 8-page 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" script is also in excellent shape. As I can only post 2 photos here, the main photo shows the album reverse with the signed script stuck inside the album's shrink wrap. The inset photo shows the album's front cover. This is from the estate of Dan (Oberholtz) Diamond, a prominent Kansas City area DJ for decades. Besides his many years as a DJ and interviewing most of the top musical acts of his time, Dan was also known for his vast personal record collection.
