Django Reinhardt Autograph Signed 78 Record Sleeve
A paper sleeve from a 78 record signed by Django Reinhardt (adding "4 Monsieur Telasir") in pencil. This is from the collection of guitarist Harry Volpe of New York, who owned a recording studio and music store. The signature is believed to have been obtained at either Mr Volpe's recording studio or music store, though it is not known who "Monsieur Telasir" is, possibly an inside joke between Django and Mr Volpe. Harry's guitar center was on West 48th Street in New York, his recording studio in Jackson Heights, Queens. The paper sleeve shows many signs of age. This is the second of two record sleeves I obtained from the same source signed by Django. The other one was also signed by Gene Krupa, Les Paul and Mary Ford, Harry James and Les Brown. I also have a third Django signature from this source in a different format.
