Al Jolson Autograph Twice Signed 78 RPM Record Album Set
This is the complete bound cover and inner paper sleeves of the Decca record album of Al Jolson from 1946, which consisted of four 78 records. Al Jolson has signed in pencil on two of the inner paper sleeves. There are two 78s included, though they are not part of this record album set. The records are "Avalon" b/w "Anniversary Song", and "All My Love" b/w "Keep Smiling At Trouble". Both records show some scratching but certainly look playable. There is a list of songs listed on the inside cover in pencil by former owner. This was part of a collection of 78s I obtained with many rare signatures signed on the paper sleeves. Some of the signatures from this collection included Lead Belly, Charlie Parker, Django Reinhardt, Muddy Waters, Fats Waller, John Coltrane. Louis Armstrong and many other vintage jazz and blues legends. The signatures are believed to have been obtained at either the recording studio or music store of guitarist Harry Volpe. Harry's guitar center was on West 48th Street in New York, his recording studio in Jackson Heights, Queens.
